Common questions about our services

We work with organisations of all sizes across a wide range of sectors, including financial services, healthcare, technology, manufacturing, professional services and the public sector. Our clients range from fast-growing start-ups with fifty employees to multinational corporations with thousands. What they share is a commitment to developing their leaders as a strategic priority. We have found that the principles of effective leadership are remarkably consistent across industries — though the application always needs to be tailored to the specific context, culture and competitive dynamics of each organisation.

Most engagements span six to twelve months, though shorter diagnostic projects (four to six weeks) and longer transformation programmes (eighteen months or more) are also common. The duration depends on the scope and complexity of the challenge. Executive coaching engagements typically run for six to nine months with fortnightly sessions. Organisational strategy work usually requires three to four months of intensive collaboration. We always agree on a clear timeline and milestones at the outset, and we build in review points where we can adjust the scope if circumstances change.

Both. We offer one-to-one executive coaching for individual leaders as well as team development programmes and organisation-wide leadership initiatives. Many of our engagements combine individual and team-level work because the two are deeply interconnected — a leader who grows individually will have a greater impact when their team is also developing. We design blended programmes that create reinforcing loops between personal development, team effectiveness and organisational culture change.

We take measurement seriously because our credibility depends on demonstrating tangible results. At the start of every engagement, we work with you to define clear success metrics. These typically include a mix of leading indicators (such as leadership behaviour change measured through 360-degree feedback, team psychological safety scores and stakeholder satisfaction ratings) and lagging indicators (such as employee engagement survey results, voluntary turnover rates and business performance metrics). We conduct baseline assessments before the engagement begins and follow-up assessments at agreed intervals. At the conclusion of the engagement, we deliver a comprehensive impact report that documents progress against each metric and identifies areas for continued focus.

We price our services on a project basis rather than hourly rates, because we believe this aligns incentives and gives clients budget certainty. After an initial scoping conversation, we provide a detailed proposal that outlines the scope, deliverables, timeline and investment. Our fees reflect the seniority and expertise of the consultants involved, the complexity of the work and the duration of the engagement. We are transparent about costs from the outset and there are no hidden fees. For clients who want ongoing support beyond a formal engagement, we offer annual advisory retainers at a reduced rate.

All of our consultants hold advanced degrees in relevant disciplines — including organisational psychology, business administration and adult development — from accredited universities. They are certified executive coaches through recognised bodies such as the International Coaching Federation and the European Mentoring and Coaching Council. Crucially, every consultant has also held senior leadership roles in organisations before joining our practice, which means they bring practical, lived experience alongside academic credentials. We invest heavily in our own professional development, with each consultant completing a minimum of forty hours of continuing education annually.

Yes. While our headquarters are in Scotland and the majority of our clients are based in the United Kingdom, we regularly work with organisations across Europe and have delivered engagements in the Middle East and Asia. We are comfortable working remotely via video conferencing for coaching sessions and can travel for workshops and on-site work as needed. We are sensitive to cultural differences and adapt our approach accordingly, drawing on our team's international experience and, where appropriate, partnering with local consultants who bring deep regional expertise.

The first step is a complimentary discovery conversation. This is an informal, confidential discussion — typically forty-five to sixty minutes — where we learn about your organisation, your leadership challenges and your aspirations. There is no obligation and no sales pressure. If we believe we can help, we will outline a proposed approach and provide a written proposal within two weeks. If we do not think we are the right fit, we will tell you honestly and, where possible, recommend alternative resources. You can schedule a discovery conversation by completing the enquiry form on our home page, emailing us at [email protected], or calling us on +44 1278 961155.

Absolutely. Confidentiality is the bedrock of our practice. All coaching conversations are strictly confidential — we do not share the content of individual coaching sessions with the organisation without the explicit consent of the individual being coached. When we conduct stakeholder interviews or cultural diagnostics, we aggregate and anonymise findings so that no individual can be identified. We are happy to sign non-disclosure agreements before any engagement begins, and our data handling practices comply fully with the UK General Data Protection Regulation.

Topics we are often asked about

Beyond the specific questions above, here are broader themes that come up regularly in our conversations with prospective clients. Each of these topics is explored in depth during our discovery and diagnostic phase.

Succession planning

Many organisations struggle to build a robust pipeline of future leaders. We help boards and senior teams identify high-potential talent, design accelerated development pathways and create succession frameworks that reduce risk and ensure continuity. Effective succession planning is not just about filling roles — it is about building the organisational capability to develop leaders at every level on an ongoing basis.

Leading through uncertainty

In an era of constant disruption — from technological change to geopolitical instability — leaders need new skills. We help executives develop the adaptive capacity, emotional resilience and strategic agility required to lead effectively when the ground is shifting beneath them. This includes building comfort with ambiguity, strengthening decision-making under pressure and fostering a culture where experimentation and learning from failure are valued.

Board effectiveness

High-performing boards are characterised by constructive challenge, diverse perspectives and disciplined governance. We facilitate board effectiveness reviews, help chairs improve meeting dynamics and support the development of non-executive directors. Our approach goes beyond compliance — we help boards become genuine strategic assets for the organisations they govern.
